Relaxing and workout aren’t two words you’d often put together but Face Gym isn’t an ordinary kind of workout.
Because they don’t teach you this kind of workout when doing your personal training qualification, it’s best I take the description from their website.
Describing itself as:
“The ultimate natural face lift that uses vigorous knuckling movements and high energy whipping strokes to stimulate blood circulations, collagen production and cell renewal to lift, tone and tighten the face.”
Their Kings Road store is probably the best to visit for your first Face Gym experience as it’s a pretty tranquil space, spacious too and you don’t feel rushed. However if you’re looking for a quick fix and the best time keeping I’ve ever seen, their Selfridge’s set up on the shop floor may be the one for you.
Met with an array of teas on arrival, we were then taken through a consultation to find out more about what we were looking for. Behind the counter are all these cocktails of face oils ranging from floral or citrusy, through to herby. Being #basic, I of course opted for the Aperol Spritz, which smelled exactly like it did on the bottle.
I was booked in for The Boss which is described as a “short high intensity workout that detoxes the face, reduces puffiness, sculpts and tones with an exfoliator to scrub away stress”.
45 minutes of stimulating the facial muscles using hands, rollers and an electric muscle stimulation device (EMS don’t ya know), you’re sure to leave feeling totally zen. It’s also a workout where you’ll feel AND look toned straight afterwards with an incredible post workout glow.
Feeling totally destressed and bossing it to say the least.
Like with any kind of gym, the more you go, the more you’ll see results. Although you’ll have to keep it up to get those facial muscles toned.
- Value : 7.5/10. £55 for 45 mins. Price wise it’s on par with a regular facial so if you like getting your deep cleanse on, you might need to still book in, but with there being nothing else like it, it’s so worth the treat.
- Facilities : 10/10. Tea on arrival, shelves of face oils and a chic yet cool interior, the experience in the King’s Road store was second to none with incredibly attentive staff.
- Sweat Level : 0.5/10 obviously this isn’t going to get your heart rate up as you’re reclined in a chair listening to the most chilled playlist. The 0.5 is for the electrifying machine that gives your face an odd twitching lip curl a la Elvis.
If you go check it out, let me know how you get on!
